Terms and conditions

These terms cover your use of ATS Resume Kit (“the service”), provided by ATS Resume Kit. They are written in plain English because terms nobody reads protect nobody. Using the service means you accept them.

1. What the service is

A free set of tools that check and build a resume. Everything runs inside your own web browser. There is no account, no subscription, no payment, and no paid tier — every feature is available to everyone at no cost.

2. Your content stays yours

You keep every right in the resume you write. We claim no licence over it, and we could not use it if we wanted to: your document is stored in your browser’s local storage and is never transmitted to us. See the privacy page, which explains how to verify that yourself.

Because we never receive your resume, we cannot recover it. If you clear your browser data, switch device, or use private browsing, the document is gone and no copy exists anywhere. Keeping a backup is your responsibility — the builder exports a JSON file in one click for exactly this reason.

3. What the service does not promise

The tools identify mechanical reasons a resume may be filtered out by applicant tracking software. They do not promise you an interview, a job, or that any particular system will parse your resume correctly. Every employer configures their software differently, and no third-party tool can replicate a specific configuration.

Scores are a checklist of removable risks, not a prediction. A high score means you have eliminated common mechanical failures; it is not a statement about your suitability for any role.

The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, ATS Resume Kit is not liable for any loss arising from your use of it — including lost data, a missed application, or an unsuccessful job search.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the service to create a resume containing claims you know to be false;
• attempt to disrupt the service or the people using it;
• resell access to this service as though it were your own paid product.

On the first point: the tools deliberately refuse to invent achievements or metrics for you. Passing an automated filter with a claim you cannot defend in an interview wastes your time and damages your standing with an employer you may want to approach again.

5. Third-party services

The tools themselves make no third-party requests. Two optional features can: the contact form, which sends your message through a form provider when you press Send, and advertising, where a deployment has enabled it. Neither has any access to your resume. Both are described on the privacy page.

6. Availability and changes

The service is offered without any uptime guarantee, and features may change or be removed. Because everything runs in your browser and your data is local, a change here cannot delete your work — but an exported backup protects you against anything unexpected.

We may update these terms. The date at the top reflects the last substantive change, and continuing to use the service after a change means accepting it.

7. If you are under 16

The service is intended for people old enough to be seeking work. It collects nothing about you either way, but if you are under 16 you should have a parent or guardian read these terms with you.
