How it works

Four steps, no account, and nothing uploaded at any point. Here is what actually happens — including the parts most resume tools leave vague.

  1. Get your resume in

    Import a PDF you already have, start from scratch, or load the sample to see the tools working on a deliberately imperfect document.

    The import doubles as the most useful test on the site. Your PDF is parsed the way an applicant tracking system parses it, and you get a review screen showing what came through and what did not — before anything is applied. Every field the parser could not find is a field a real employer’s software is likely to miss too.

  2. See what is mechanically wrong

    Six categories are scored independently: contact details, section structure, ATS-safe formatting, content quality, keywords, and length.

    Every finding names the rule that produced it and what to change. Nothing is generated — the same resume always produces the same result, and there is no “analyzing…” spinner because the analysis runs on your keystrokes rather than in a queue.

  3. Tailor it to one posting

    Paste a job description to see your match percentage, the skills and vocabulary you are missing, and what to change.

    Matching is done against a hand-curated skill taxonomy with an alias table, so a posting asking for “K8s” matches a resume saying “Kubernetes”. Job-description boilerplate is filtered out — without that step every posting’s top keyword is “experience”.

  4. Export something a parser can read

    PDF with real, selectable text — or JSON, which is your backup and your escape hatch.

    Many builders export a picture of your resume wrapped in a PDF. It looks perfect and an ATS extracts zero characters from it. The export here draws real text operators, and a test in the build decompresses the generated file and asserts your name, employer and bullet text are recoverable.

Where your resume goes

Nowhere. There is no server to send it to — every tool is JavaScript running on your own device, and your resume is stored in your browser’s local storage. That is not a policy promise, it is an architectural fact, and you can confirm it in about a minute:

  1. Open your browser’s developer tools and select the Network tab.
  2. Use every feature — type, analyze, import a PDF, export one.
  3. The only requests are for this site’s own files, plus Google Analytics if you allowed it — and analytics is switched off entirely on the builder, so the one page that holds your resume is never measured. See the privacy page for the full list.

The trade-off is real and worth knowing before it bites: nothing syncs between devices, and clearing your browser data deletes the document permanently because no copy exists anywhere else. Export a JSON backup — it takes one click.

What it will not do

Write your resume for you

It will not invent an employer, a date or a metric. Where a number is missing it marks the gap instead of filling it — the claim you cannot defend in an interview is worse than the gap.

Promise you an interview

No third-party tool can replicate one employer’s configuration. This removes the mechanical reasons a resume gets filtered out. Everything after that is outside what any checker can see.

Recover a lost document

Your resume never reaches us, so there is nothing to restore from. That is the direct cost of the privacy model, and a JSON export solves it.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install anything?
No. It runs in the browser you already have, on desktop or phone, with nothing to download and no extension. After your first visit it also works offline, because the application caches itself — that follows from having no backend rather than being a feature that was added.
How long does it take to get a usable resume?
Around twenty minutes from an existing PDF, because the import fills most of it in and you are correcting rather than typing. From scratch, expect an hour of real work — the tools tell you what is missing as you go, so the time goes into deciding what to say rather than into formatting.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. The builder, the analysis and the PDF export all work on a phone, and the layout switches to one pane at a time rather than shrinking the desktop view. Importing a PDF works too, if you can reach the file from your phone’s file picker.
What happens if I close the tab in the middle?
Nothing is lost. Every change is saved to your browser’s local storage as you type, so reopening the site puts you back where you were. The only thing that clears it is clearing this site’s data — which is also how you delete everything, permanently and without asking anyone.
